The DR Performance Practice Deck represents a new way to practice for practical shooting sports. Consisting of 52 basic shooting drills superimposed on a normal deck of playing cards, the deck allows you to have a thorough, fun, and effective practice session while avoiding the inevitable question of "Well, what do I do now?".

The original Practice Deck is a real physical deck of cards. The DR Performance Practice Deck for iOS provides features beyond what a physical deck can do. Since youre already taking your iPhone with you to the range, having the DR Performance Practice Deck on your mobile device is a convenient way to ensure you never forget your practice deck. No need to worry about cards dropping, wind blowing, or forgetting your deck in your other bag.

The free version provides a limited number of cards and decks. Purchase the upgrade to the Pro version to obtain more features:

* All 52 original cards
* Numerous decks
* The ability to create, preserve, and share your own decks for easy use in future practice sessions.
* Score Tracking

Pros and cons of DR Performance Practice Deck app for iPhone and iPad

DR Performance Practice Deck app good for

Why cant all apps be this good?! Works flawlessly, and is thoughtfully made by someone who clearly has passion for shooting and training...buy it, you will come back to this app over and over.
I have had a USPSA membership for a while but dont live close enough to any place to shoot a match and wasnt sure what to do to gauge where I stood. Now I have a plan to test my own skills and track my progress so when I move next I will have a set of skills to work with. This app is incredible...

Some bad moments

I have the actual deck of cards I got back in January and love using them. Now with this iPhone app, I dont have to worry about making sure I have the deck with me cuz I always will on my phone! And with the pro version giving you the ability to create your own makes it even that much more woth it!!
The deck is a great training tool to always have with you! Now I dont have to worry if its in my range bag or not!! I love it! Thanks for everything DRP!!
Ive purchased the upgrade, which provides a significant amount of useful drills. I find it a great tool in setting up personal practice at the range. If youre just plinking away at the same old targets, this will provide a starting ground in developing useful skills. The app has the ability to score your drills IAW DRP, IDPA, or IPSC rules and targets, but you will need a shot timer for your times. Drills consist of multiple repetitions, with scoring either competed after each rep, or at the completion of all reps (score final). I’ve come across a couple of things that could be improved on. The first is time recording required for drills with scoring done after all reps (score final) – you must keep track of your times and add them together. It would be nice if the drill kept track of each rep time and added the time for you. Second, there is no quick access to a log that shows overall by day what you completed and the scores associated with it. You can export scores from a drill, but it must be done within the specific drill.
Really a must have for competitive shooter or anyone who wants to up their game. To have actual drills with scores gives you immediate feedback on how you are performing. Helps me practice for USPSA in an organized and effective manner.
Ive been thinking about getting into the shooting sports for a while. Watching shows on Outdoor Channel, or reading about it in magazines. However, after hearing about different drills for practice or stage challenges, I was only ever able to figure out a couple. The drills on the free version of this app are a good start for a beginner to practice & see if they want to spend the money on joining a club, getting outfitted, & competing. I was perturbed, however, to find out that the "fundamentals" option was only available in the full price app. Not to be too nit-picky, but @ least a couple of fundamentals would be well received by beginners who may be considering joining.
I love this app. Takes your practice to a whole new level. You cant improve, or even know what to improve without data. Only improvements would be: A way to record your split and draw times. Right now i I record them on paper and put them in the comments. Add specific drills for rifle and especially shotgun. A lot of the drills I can shoot with rifle and just note it in the comments. A way to make my own drills in the app but that really might have to be a separate app.
